Code Detail Pages
Performing a Quick Search or Advanced Search for a code ultimately navigates you to the respective detail page. Each code type (CPT®, Modifier, ICD-10, etc.) has a detail page that gives you current and often interactive information from sources such as the American Medical Association (AMA), American Hospital Association (AHA), and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS).
The Icon Bar
At the top of each detail page is an icon bar that provides access to additional billing and coding information for the selected code. Each icon corresponds to a code type or code-related detail page. For example, is the icon for CPT/HCPCS modifiers. The icons are relevant to selected code, therefore you may only see a few on some pages, while on others you may see more. If an icon is disabled, then it doesn't apply to the selected code.
Steps
- Hover over an icon to see its name in a tooltip.
- Click an icon. The detail page opens with information related to your code.
Tip: To return to detail page for your code, click the Code Details icon
.

When you perform a code search in Knowledge Source, you ultimately end up on a code detail page. Each code type (CPT®, Modifier, ICD-10, etc.) has a detail page that gives you current and often interactive information related to the selected code.
You can set any code detail page to be your default view. This means that every time you perform a search, the default code detail page displays the results. For example, if you want to see reimbursement details when you search for CPT codes:
Steps
- Perform a CPT code quick search.
- Click the Reimbursement icon
. The Reimbursement page opens in the same tab.
- Click Set Default.
- Close the tab.
- Perform a new CPT code search. The Reimbursement page displays for the respective CPT code.
Tip: You can only have one code detail page set as default. To set another detail page as your default results page, go to that detail page and click Set Default in the toolbar. The previous detail page will be overwritten.

Notes can be added to codes at the facility level or the user level. Clinic (facility) notes can only be added by an Administrator at your facility, but they are seen by all users with access to the facility. User notes are only seen by the user who added them.
Access Notes
There are two ways to view notes. You can search for a specific code in the Notes knowledge database. All notes that you have access to display on your Setup > Notes page.
