ICD-9 Procedure to ICD-10 PCS Crosswalk

There are two ways to view the crosswalk between ICD-9 Procedure and ICD-10 PCS codes from the ICD-9 Code Details page. Use either of these procedures to view the crosswalk.

Note: These crosswalk mappings are based on the General Equivalence Mappings (GEM).

Procedure

1. From an ICD-9 Procedure detail code, click the crosswalk button in the toolbar to view a compatible ICD-10 PCS code list.

2. Click on a specific code in the Code column to open a new tab showing detailed ICD-10 PCS code information for that code.

Note: When you open the ICD-10 PCS detail page, you can click the crosswalk button again to view compatible ICD-9 Procedure codes. Clicking on a code will open a detailed ICD-9 Proc page for that code.

Procedure

1. Click any of the hyperlinked codes under Related ICD-10 PCS Codes in the Code Details section. A new tab opens that gives you details about the specific ICD-10 code.

Note: If there are more than five codes available and you want to view them all, click the hyperlink See all [insert number] related ICD-10 PCS Codes and you can view a comprehensive list of all ICD-10 codes related to the ICD-9 Proc code. To return to the previous ICD-9 Code Details page, click the ICD-9 Code Detail button in the icon toolbar.
