HAC Codes
A hospital acquired condition (HAC) code represents an undesirable condition that a patient obtained while admitted in a hospital or medical facility. HAC codes are typically secondary to ICD-10 CM codes. Therefore, when an ICD-10 CM code is also an HAC code, you can view the HAC code information in the ICD-10 HAC Codes detail page.
