Getting Started

Contract Manager is an Internet application that increases net revenue for health care facilities by identifying underpayments of payors, streamlining the billing follow-up process, and providing complete contract negotiation tools without the hassle of building and maintaining an on-site system.

The online Internet application supports real-time query and reporting of contract and claim information as well as implementation status. Specifically, it allows you to:

  • Monitor contract implementation status and test claims to ensure accuracy prior to viewing live data.
  • View managed care contracts in both electronic and actual document format.
  • Research accounts and drill down to detailed billing and contract information.
  • Produce high-level summaries including underpayment analysis.
  • Monitor and analyze calculated reimbursements on an ongoing basis.
  • Use analysis and modeling tools to leverage future contracts to your advantage.

Multi-Facility Organizations

Contract Manager supports single and group (multi-facility) organizations. If you are a member of a group and have access to more than one facility, you may select a group when you log on. Later, you may change your selection to one facility, as necessary.

Logging on at the group level gives you access to composite information for the group if it is meaningful to the function. For example, you may review implementation issues for all products in the group rather than for one facility at a time.

Some functions require you to select a single facility rather than a group (for example, the Account Worklist and Exception Worklist). Therefore, the menu commands for these functions are unavailable until you select a single facility.

Audit Mode

The Contract Manager Audit Mode is a way for authorized users and FinThrive account representatives to test and review contract profiles by repricing claims outside of the production database. The FinThrive account representative runs a reprice job against selected claims, and thereafter, the client and the account representative may review the repriced results on the Account Worklist in the Audit Mode. These repriced results are available by selecting Change > Audit Mode. When you select it, the words Audit Mode appear in parentheses after the facility name, beneath the title, as in Lone-Star Hospital (Audit Mode).

Repriced claims appear on the production worklist only after the status of the contract is “In Production” and the production reprice job is run.

Audit Mode Functional Security allows access to the Audit Mode. The Audit Mode allows you to review patient account results before the accounts are processed in the Production environment.
