Send Notification of Medicare Provider Profile Changes
The Send Notification page allows you to automatically notify the appropriate users of any changes made to the Medicare Provider Profile. You can notify users by a generated email and/or by automatically creating a Communication Log entry.
This page allows you to select email recipients from a predefined list of email addresses. The email notification includes the facility name and all of the fields that display on the Send Notification page, including the previous and new values for all fields changed on the Medicare Provider Profile.
You can send a notification after each update or send one notification that includes the details of several updates. For example, if you need to update the Inpatient Acute section and the LTCH section of the profile and send notification of each update to different users, you can perform the Inpatient Acute update and send notification and then perform the LTCH update and send notification to a different user. You can also wait to send notification until both updates are complete and send a notification that contains the details of both updates.
Use the following procedure to send notification of changes to the Medicare Provider Profile.

- Access the Send Notification page.
- Select Go To > Government Payor Research > Medicare > Provider Profile. The Medicare Provider Profile page opens.
- Enter a date in the Effective Date field if you want to view provider profile information for an effective date other than today.
- Enter a DRG or CMG code in the DRG/CMG field to view provider profile information specific to the entered code.
- Leave this field blank to view all provider profile information for the selected effective date.
- Click Display Profile. The Medicare Provider Profile information displays.
- If changes have been made to the profile, but notification of the changes have not been sent, an update indicator shows which sections have been updated. For more information about editing the profile, refer to Edit the Medicare Provider Profile.
- When all updates are complete, click Send Notification under the summary of changes. The Send Notification page opens.Select the check box for each email address you want to include in the email notification.
Note: The email address for the FinThrive Account Manager assigned to your account is selected by default and cannot be cleared.
- Select the Run corrective reprice check box if the changes require a reprice.
- Selecting this check box includes an indicator in the email and/or Communication Log entry that a corrective reprice is required.
- Selecting this check box does not automatically generate a corrective reprice.
- Select the Create Communication Log entry check box to automatically create a Communication Log entry that documents the changes to the profile.
- The Communication Log category is automatically set to Medicare.
- The Communication Log number is included in the email notifications.

- Type a comment that explains the nature of and reason for the changes in the Comments field.
- Your comment is limited to 500 characters.
- Your comment appears in the notification email and the Communication Log entry if one is created.
- Review the summary of changes at the bottom of the page to ensure the data is correct.
- Click Submit. The Medicare Provider Profile page opens and displays a message that your notification was sent.
Note: To exit the Send Notification page without sending a notification, click Cancel.
