Edit the Medicare Provider Profile
The Medicare Provider Profile page shows the Medicare services provided by your facility, along with the values and effective dates of Medicare reimbursement calculations. If you have access to edit the Medicare Provide Profile, you can make changes to the profile and automatically notify the appropriate users of the changes through email and/or a Communication Log entry.

- To access the Medicare Provider Profile page, select Go To > Government Payor Research > Medicare > Provider Profile.
- Enter a date in the Effective Date field if you want to edit provider profile information for an effective date other than today.
- Enter a DRG or CMG code in the DRG/CMG field to view provider profile information specific to the entered code.
Note: Leave this field blank to view all provider profile information for the selected effective date.
- Click Display Profile. The Medicare Provider Profile includes the following sections displayed vary based on the criteria selected:
- Inpatient Acute (IPPS - DRGs)
- Outpatient Acute (OPPS - APC & Fee Schedule)
- Reserve Report Factors
- IRF (IRF PPS - CMGs)
- Psych (IPF PPS)
- SNF (SNF PPS)
- LTC (LTC DRGs)
- ESRD/ASC
- Hospice
- Review the Medicare Provider Profile information.
- To view additional details regarding the information on this page:
- Click History for an individual item on this page to view the historical changes to that value.
- Click the DRG/CMG link in the DRG/CMG Lookup section. The DRG/CMG Description page opens. For more information, refer to View Lookup Table Descriptions.
- Make the desired changes to the Medicare Provider Profile.
Note: If you do not have permission to edit the Medicare Provider Profile, the fields on this page display as read-only fields
- Click the Update button for the section of the profile that you changed. For example, if you changed an item in the Inpatient Acute section, click Update Acute. The search page for the Medicare Provider Profile opens and indicates that a specific section of the profile was updated.
- To view the Medicare Provider Profile again or to make additional changes, click Display Profile.
- If you make changes to another section of the profile and click the Update button for that section, the updated section is added to the list of updated sections on the search page.
- Notification of changes is not sent until you click Send Notification. You can choose to send a notification after each update or send one combined notification for a group of updates.
- To send notification of the changes, click Send Notification. The Send Notification page opens. For more information about this page, refer to Send Notification of Medicare Provider Profile Changes
Note: To clear the results and return to original Medicare Provider Profile page, click Reset.
