Lookup Remittance Advice Data

The Remittance Advice Lookup page displays all remittance advice (RA) data received for the selected account. For accounts that have multiple RAs, you can use this page to view all the RAs and their detail information from one location. You can also filter and sort the list of RAs based on RA data to further help you research RA information.

Note: This page is only available if your facility uses the Remittance Advice (RA) feature and there is RA data available for the selected account.

Procedure

Access the Remittance Advice Lookup page.
If you know the account number:
1. Select Go To > Account Research > By Account Number. The Account Research by Account Number page opens.
2. Type the account number and click Display Account. The Patient Account Audit page opens.
3. Click the RA link in the View column. The Remittance Advice Lookup page opens.
If you do not know the account number:
1. Select Go To > Account Research > from Worklist. The Account Research from Worklist page opens.
2. From the Task list, select Create Worklist.
3. Specify other selection criteria and click Display Accounts. The Account Worklist page opens. For more information about search criteria, refer to Specify Account Worklist Criteria.
  Note: PEM claims are not included in worklist results.
4. Click the account number you want to review in the Account Number column. The Patient Account Audit page opens.
5. Click the RA link in the View column. The Remittance Advice Lookup page opens.
View RA details.
- This page defaults to show all RA data for the selected account.
- You can use the selection criteria to reduce or filter the data to show only the RA data that meets your selection criteria.
To filter the RA data that displays:
1. Select the type of date you want to filter by from the Date field. This field defaults to Service From date, but the following options are also available:
  - Service To
  - Remittance Advice
2. Type a start date and end date for your filter in the Start Date and End Date fields.
  - The start and end dates limit your search to RA data with a date between the dates you specify. The type of date considered is determined by the Date field.
  - To select a date from a calendar, click the calendar icon next to the field.
  - Leave these fields blank to return RA data for all dates for the selected account.
3. Select an operator (=, <, or >) from the Billed Charges list and type a dollar amount in the Billed Charges field.
  - For example, to only show accounts with billed charges greater than $1000.00, select > and type 1000.00 in the Billed Charges field.
  - Leave this field blank if you do not want to filter by billed charges amount.
4. Select the RA claim status you want to filter by from the RA Claim Status list.
  - Selecting a claim status filters the RA data to only show RA data with the selected status.
  - Leave this field blank if you do not want to filter by RA claim status.
5. Select the name of the payor you want to filter by from the Payor Name list.
  - Select All to include all payors.
6. To change how your results are sorted, select the name of the column you would like to sort by from the Sort By list.
7. Click Filter RA Data. The RA details are updated to include only the data that matched your selection criteria.
  - To return to the default selection criteria, click Reset.
To view the line item details for a specific RA entry, click the number link in the No. column. The line item details display.
- To hide the line item details, click the number link in the No. column again.

Field Descriptions

The following table provides field definitions on the Remittance Advice Lookup page (applicable only if FinThrive reprices claims that contain RA data for your facility).

Selection Criteria
Billed Charges	Total charges incurred for the claim or set of claims; used with an operator to filter claims that are greater than, less than, or equal to a specific amount
Date	Date type to use as a filter
From	Initial date in the date range used as a filter
Payor Name	Name of the payor used as a filter
RA Claim Status	The RA claim status used to filter accounts with a specific status
Sort By	The column used to sort the results
To	End date in the date range used as a filter
Results Area
_____ From Date	Initial date of the selected date range. The type of date that displays is determined by your selection in the Date field. For example, if you selected “Service From, “this field displays as “Service From Date.”
_____ To Date	End date of the selected date range. The type of date that displays is determined by your selection in the Date field. For example, if you selected “Service From, “this field displays as “Service To Date.”
Billed Charges	The total charges incurred for the claim or set of claims that have been repriced
Charges (RA)	Total charges associated with the RA
CPT/HCPC Codes & Modifiers	Associated CPT or HCPC codes and modifiers
Deductible (RA)	Total deductible listed on the RA
Insurance Payment (RA)	The amount paid by the insurance company on this RA
No.	Line number for the RA data entry; this number is a link that shows/hides the line item detail
Patient Payment (RA)	Portion paid by the patient on this RA
Payment Codes	Used to explain the payment of the account; defined in the Remittance Payment Codes table
Payor Name	Name of the payor
RA Claim Status	RA claim status assigned to the RA entry
RA Claim Status Description	Explanation of the RA claim status code assigned to the RA entry
RA Date	Date used as the RA date defined by your facility. Typically, this is the date processed by the payor, but it could also be the date posted.
Revenue Code	Revenue code
Service Date	Date the service was rendered
Total Payment	The total insurance and patient payments posted to the account, as defined in the data
Total Payment (RA)	The total insurance and patient payments on this RA
Units (RA)	Number of units used for Remittance Advice purposes
