Coach
Coach is a forum where you can search for or ask Professional or Hospital Outpatient coding questions to FinThrive Compliance Integrity experts, known as Coaches. After researching, FinThrive Coaches post a response to your question on the message board, usually within two business days. Each response is constructed to provide you with meaningful information and resources to help you resolve your issue.
Any user can search for existing Coach threads, but your account must be configured to post new Coach questions.
The number of questions your facility can post is contractual. When the contractual number of remaining Coach questions for the time period is one, emails go out to alert active users.
Note: Once an FinThrive Coach has responded to your question, you have 30 days to respond. Should you attempt to reply to a Coach question beyond the 30 day threshold, an alert message displays advising you to submit a new Coach question.

Search for Coach Threads
Coach threads are Q&A forums between Knowledge Source users and FinThrive Coaches. Any user can search for Coach threads. In general, before you post a Coach question, it's a good idea to find out if your question has been answered in an existing Coach thread. If you do not find your answer, you can post a new Coach question.
There are three ways to find Coach threads. The most common is by using Advanced Search. The second way is via an alert on the CPT®/HCPCS Detail page. The third is using Browse-By-Coach.

The Search tab is open by default in the Knowledge Source interface.
Procedure
- Go to the Search tab > Advanced Search panel.
- Type a code or keyword into the Find field.
- Select Coach from the Search In drop-down menu. All Coach Collections is defaulted.
- Click the Advanced Search drop-down menu to select a date range or Clinic Type.
- Click Submit. Results display in the adjacent grid.
- In the Results grid, click the hyperlinked code or keyword(s) in the Subject column for the Coach thread you want to view. The thread opens in a new tab. You can view, print, or email the Coach thread.

If a CPT/HCPCS code has related Coach questions, the hyperlink Compliance Coach Questions, located in the top right corner of the UI, will be active.
Procedure
- Click the hyperlink Compliance Coach Questions. The Search tab opens with the selected code in the Find field, the date fields set for the past 30 days, and results in the adjacent Results grid.
- In the Results grid, click the hyperlinked code or keyword(s) in the Subject column for the Coach thread you want to view. The thread opens in a new tab.

Click Browse in the main menu. The Browse tab opens.

Click Browse-By-Coach. The Browse side panel opens with the Browse-By-Coach form displayed.

Type a code or keyword into the Find field.

Select a date range.

Select a clinic type.

Click Submit. Results display in the adjacent grid under Browse-By-Coach Results.
Post a Coach Question
If you searched for your topic in existing Coach threads, but did not find your answer, you can post a question for an FinThrive Coach to review. There are two ways to post a Coach question: in the Advanced Search panel and in Browse-By-Coach.
Note: The ability to post questions, as well as the number of questions your facility can post is part of your facility’s contract with FinThrive. For more information on enabling this feature, contact client support.

- Open Advanced Search.
- Go to Search In and select Coach. The Advanced Options panel opens.
- Click Post a New Question under Clinic Type. The Post a New Question form opens in a new tab.
- Choose a question type: Physician/Professional or Hospital OP.
- Type a Subject.
- Your Name automatically defaults to your username. This field is editable.
- Select a Specialty.
- Type Your Message/Question.
- Select Yes or No to the question I wish to be notified by email when someone responds to my message.
- Type Your email address.
- Click Submit.
Note: An email notification will be sent to you once your Coach question has been answered. The email contains a link that will navigate you directly to the Coach thread. You will also receive emails when other users or FinThrive Compliance Integrity experts add to the Coach thread.

Click Browse in the main menu. The Browse tab opens.

Click Browse-By-Coach. The Browse side panel opens with the Browse-By-Coach form displayed.

Click Post a New Question.The Post a New Question form displays in a window.
- Choose a question type: Physician/Professional or Hospital OP.
- Type a Subject.
- Your Name automatically defaults to your username. This field is editable.
- Select a Specialty.
- Type Your Message/Question.
