Create or Update a Canary Claim
Canary claims are fictional claims assigned to a canary claim group you can select when creating a patient list for a model. These groups can then be shared across your organization so that users modeling claims are using the same groups of claims.
The UB04 Claim Entry / Rework Screen provides a claim form that you can modify to create a new canary claim to include in a canary claim group. You can also use this page to modify existing canary claims.

- Access the Modeling - UB04 Claim Entry / Rework Screen page.
- Select Go To > Contract Modeling > Canary Claim Group Research. The Modeling - Canary Claim Group Research page opens.
- Click the name of the group you want to review in the Group column. The Modeling - Maintain Canary Claim Group page opens.
- To create a new canary claim, click Add New Canary Claim.
- To update an existing canary claim, click Edit in the Functions column for the claim you want to edit.
- The Modeling - UB04 Claim Entry / Rework Screen page opens.
- Type the desired information for the claim in the appropriate fields.
- Personal health information is not editable.
- Required fields are shaded in blue.
- To add detailed charges to this claim, click Manage Detailed Charges. The Canary Claims Detail Charges page opens. For more information, refer to Add Detailed Charges to a Canary Claim.
- Do one of the following:
- Click Add New Claim if you are creating a new claim.
- Click Save Existing Claim if you are updating an existing claim.
