Add Detailed Charges to a Canary Claim
The Canary Claims Detailed Charges page allows you to add detailed charges to a specific canary claim. You can either add the detailed charges manually or upload a detailed charges .csv file.
Note: Adding or editing detailed charges for a canary claim adds updates charges for all claims associated with the selected account number. If you uploaded canary claims from a repository, it is possible to have multiple claims associated with a single account number.

- Access the Canary Claims Detailed Charges page.
- Select Go To > Contract Modeling > Canary Claim Group Research. The Modeling - Canary Claim Group Research page opens.
- Click the name of the group you want to review in the Group column. The Modeling - Maintain Canary Claim Group page opens.
Note: You must select a canary claim group for which you are the group owner.
- Click Charges in the Functions column for the claim you want to edit. The Canary Claims Detailed Charges page opens.
Note: You can also access the Canary Claims Detailed Charges page by clicking Manage Detailed Charges on the UB04 Claim Entry / Rework Screen.
- To search for a specific detailed charge:
- Enter values you want to search by in the Filter Criteria selection. For more information about these criteria, refer to the Field Descriptions table below.
- Click Refresh View. The list of detailed charges is limited to those charges that match the entered criteria.
- To edit an existing detailed charge, locate the charge line and type your changes in each of the detailed charge field.
- For more information about these fields, refer to the Field Descriptions table below.
- To delete a detailed charge line, click the red “X” in the Delete column.
- To add detailed charges manually, type the details for each charge in the detailed charge fields.
- To add an additional line to enter a new detailed charge, click Add Detailed Charge Line. A new detailed charge line appears below your last entry.

- To upload a detailed charges .csv file:
Note: To upload a detailed charges .csv file, that file must be in the format of detailed charges template. To view this template, click Download Template. You can use this file as a template to enter your charges or ensure that your existing file is in the same format.
- Click File Upload. The Uploader dialog box opens.
- Click Browse to select a file. The Choose File window opens.
- Select the file you want to upload and click Open.
- Click Select. The file is imported, and a file contents preview appears.
- Valid charges are highlighted in green. Charges that are not highlighted are not imported. The bottom of the preview pane shows the total number of files to be imported. For example, if your file contains 23, but only 21 will be imported, the bottom of the page shows a count of 21 of 23 records.
- The file contents preview is read-only and cannot be edited.
- Do one of the following:
- Click Overwrite Charges with File Contents to replace all existing charges in the Canary Claims Detailed Charges page with the contents of the uploaded file.
- Click Append Charges with File Contents to add the charges in the uploaded file to the existing charges.
- Click Cancel File Operation to close the file contents preview without saving them to this claim.
- To export detailed charges:
- Select either Microsoft Excel or Text File from the Export To list.
- Select Microsoft Excel to open Excel. You can then work with the data in Excel; for example, to move or delete columns, re-sort or re-format the data.
- Select Text File to save the data as plain text (with no formatting). Typically, you select this option if Excel is unavailable on your computer or you have Excel version’97 or older.
- Click Export.
- Select either Microsoft Excel or Text File from the Export To list.
- Click Save Updates to save your changes and additions.
