Browse-By-Book
Browse-By-Book is a library of coding and billing publications grouped into collections.
Note: Most collections are included in your subscription, though some are add-ons requiring an additional fee. If you do not have access to a particular collection, contact Client Support to discuss set up.
Steps
The collections are set up in accordion format which allows you to drill down to a singular topic.
- Go to Browse in the Main Menu.
- Click
. The Browse panel opens with the Browse-By-Book menu expanded.
- Click
to view a specific collection.
- Click
to open reference materials for the selected collection. Results display in the adjacent Browse-by-Book Results panel. Some results contain hyperlinks that allow you to navigate directly to the source for further details.

The following collections are available in Browse-By-Book. Most collections are included in your subscription, though some are add-ons requiring an additional fee. The add-ons are denoted with an asterisk (*). If you do not have access to a particular collection, contact Client Support to discuss set up.

Contains AMA CPT® and CMS HCPCS Level II chapters by code set. CPT CollectionThe CPT collection lists coding topics and code sets in the order that they appear in the AMA CPT® coding book. Within each topic the following details display when available: chapter or section guidelines, coding tips, citations, notes, and CPT Guidelines appendices. HCPCS CollectionThe HCPCS collection lists code sets by topic in alphabetical order. The results display a hyperlinked code and description. |

Access CPT® Assistant volumes by year. CPT® Assistant is an American Medical Association monthly publication that contains industry standards for current, past, and future CPT coding. These newsletters are helpful in a variety of coding scenarios such as: code validation, coding questions, denials appeals. Composite APC Assignments |
Access procedures by department that are assigned an APC (Ambulatory Payment Classification). From the Browse-By-Book collection, you can drill down to view reimbursement details and APC details for a selected procedure code. |
