View Supplemental Billing History by Account
Supplemental Billing is an optional feature. If your facility has elected to use this feature, you can use this procedure to select criteria for account research on in-house and discharged, but not final-billed patients.

- Access the Supplemental Billing History by Account page.
- Select Go To > Account Research > SB Account Research. The Supplemental Billing Account Research page opens.
- Specify the SB research criteria and click Display Accounts. The Supplemental Billing History by Account page opens.
- Review the accounts.
Calculation method refers to one of the following:
- R–repriced successfully.
- D–the expected reimbursement default method; also the method for Medicare patients.
- Y–no new information since yesterday.
- N–not processed successfully.
Note: Not all accounts have complete information.
- Optionally, specify different options and click Refresh View.
- In Filter by, select Message Code, type a message code in the space beside it and click Refresh View to limit the results to accounts with that message code.
- In Accounts, you can select a time period—Since production or Before production—that the supplemental billing was recorded, or you can show all records.
- Click a link in the Patient Number column to display the same page with just the selected account.
- Click a link in the Msg Code column to display a description for that message.
- Click a link in the DRG column to display a description for that DRG.
- Select Show account audit information if claim exists to research account audit information for the account number you typed, if a claim exists. It finds supplemental billing history information if a claim does not exist for the account number you typed.
- Clear Show account audit information if claim exists to find only supplemental billing information for the account number you typed, regardless of whether a claim exists.
- To export the information to Microsoft Excel® or a text file, select an entry in Export To.
- Select Microsoft Excel to open Excel. Then, you can work with the data in Excel; for example, to move or delete columns, re-sort or re-format the data.
- Select Text File to save the data as plain text (with no formatting). Typically, you select this option if Excel is unavailable on your computer or if you have Excel version’97 or older.
