Note

The Note tool provides information about a service type. You typically use this tool to clarify the reimbursement details.

• The Note tool is often used to indicate that a service type is not reimbursable.

Note: For example, when open heart services are excluded from stop loss, you add an OH service type to the Stop Loss section so that it does not qualify for the All IP service type. Since you must add at least one reimbursement term to every service type, you can define the OH service type with a Note tool explaining that those services are excluded from stop loss.
