OPPS Informant Departments Crosswalk
The OPPS Informant Departments Crosswalk lists hospital outpatient departments providing services that are reported under OPPS.
Not every outpatient department provides services that are reported/paid under OPPS, thus all hospital staff may not need to sign up for OPPS Informants.
Here are some examples of some non-OPPS departments that are not listed:
- Home Health (HH)
- Ambulance/EMT services
- Hospice
- Free-standing ASC (Ambulatory Surgery Center)
If staff members in non-OPPS departments want to receive OPPS Informants, they may sign up for all departments or for any department(s) of interest.
OPPS Informant e-mails also provide a bulleted list of departments that receive that Informant e-mail. This list is found under the heading Information of Interest to:.
All Departments
When All Departments is listed under the Information of Interest To section of the e-mail, this means that every user setup to receive OPPS Informants for any department and those set up for All Departments are sent the Informant.
Users setup for All Departments are sent every OPPS Informant, including those sent to a specific department - for example, Cath Lab.
When a specific department(s) is listed on the Informant e-mail, users set up for All Departments are sent the Informant along with those setup for the specific department(s).
Example: An Informant directed to Oncology will be sent to users set up for Oncology and to those users who are set up for All Departments.
