ICD-10 Reference Center

The ICD-10 Reference Center lets you build ICD-10 PCS codes and gives you access to the latest ICD-10 information published by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), and authoritative coding sources such as the American Hospital Association (AHA).

Procedure

  1. Type a code or part of a code into the blank field. As you type the database displays a list of the top five codes, by category, matching your criteria.
  2. Click a code. Code details display in the panel.
  3. If desired, click the hyperlinked code to navigate to the detail page.

ICD-9 Codes

When you look up a ICD-9 codes, related ICD-10 code information displays, as well as code family mapping for the related ICD-10 code. Click any hyperlink to navigate to the code detail page. Click Show all related codes to navigate to the ICD-9 to ICD-10 crosswalk for the selected ICD-9 code.

The ICD-10 PCS Code Builder assists you in building ICD-10 PCS codes digit-by-digit from left to right.

Procedure

  1. Place your cursor in the first box on the left and type a value. As you enter values, a position header displays above the box and possible matches for the next value display in the Possible Matches box.

     

  2. Continue entering values until you have completed your code. Once complete, the code and description display.
  3. Click the hyperlinked code. The ICD-10 PCS Code Detail page opens in a new tab.

This panel contains the most current ICD-10 PCS and ICD-10 CM knowledge articles in descending order by date. The five most recent display in the panel. Click Show All ICD-10 Guideline Documents to view a complete list in a new window.

Procedure

  1. Click a hyperlinked knowledge article. It opens in PDF format in a new tab.
    • Click to save the article to your favorites.
    • Click to email the article.

This panel contains the complete AHA ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS Coding Handbook with Answers by section and chapter. The first five hyperlinks display the preface and chapters 1-4. Click Show All AHA ICD-10 Coding Handbook with Answers to view the complete list of sections and chapters.

  1. Click a hyperlinked section or chapter. It opens in PDF format in a new tab.
    • Click to save it to your favorites.
    • Click to email it.
