Federal Guidelines
Federal Guidelines contains information for your information regarding publications of rules, policies, procedures and/or transmittals. Refer to the following list for review:
- Federal Register: The Federal Register is the official daily publication for rules, proposed rules, and notices of Federal agencies and organizations. FinThrive includes key Medicare hospital and professional articles.
- Transmittals: Program transmittals are used to communicate new or changed policies, and/or procedures that are being incorporated into a specific CMS program manual. For your convenience, Program Memoranda, discontinued October 1, 2003, can be searched at the same time. Transmittals replaced Program Memoranda as a way to communicate CMS program changes.
- MLN Matters: This contains information for Medicare Providers designed to help providers understand new or changed Medicare policy. Articles are prepared as a service to the public and are not intended to grant rights or impose obligations.
- Program Memoranda: Program Memorandum, discontinued October 1, 2003, were used to communicate new or changed policies, and/or procedures that are being incorporated into a specific CMS program. Program Memoranda has since been replaced by One Time Notifications. For your convenience both Program Memoranda and One Time Notifications can be searched at the same time.
